Brad Pitt's Flick Wins Top Honor in Cannes
In Entertainment NewsSunday, May 22, 2011
Well, looks like Brad Pitt gets the last laugh at the Cannes Film Festival. His upcoming film Tree of Life was booed during its premiere at the prestigous festival, but then it won the top prize today at the closing ceremony!
The flick, which also stars Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain, took home the Palme d'Or award. Jury president Robert De Niro presented the prize today (though Brad was already back in Hollywood), and also handed out the Best Actress honor to Kirsten Dunst for her role in Melancholia. French actor Jean Dujardin won Best Actor for his role in the silent film The Artist.
The festival wrapped up today, which means a ton of Hollywood stars will be leaving the swanky city -- and the private yachts and VIP parties and totally amazing Eden Roc Hotel. That is, until next year!
