The Washington Capitals might be relieved to face the New York Islanders -- or nearly any other team, for that matter. Visits to Nassau Coliseum, however, have been much tougher than expected for opponents recently.
Coming off another rout at the hands of a New York-based team, the Capitals look to rebound by continuing their dominance of the Islanders in the opener of a home-and-home set Saturday night.
Washington (32-20-10) felt it had momentum after winning three of four on the road, but that success proved fleeting after a 6-0 home loss to the New York Rangers on Friday. It was the Capitals' most lopsided defeat since Dec. 12, when they lost 7-0 on the road to the Rangers.
