The Panthers dealt defenseman Bryan McCabe to the New York Rangers for Tim Kennedy and a draft pick Saturday, two days after trading forward Cory Stillman to Atlanta for center Ryan Carter and a pick.
Florida even put veteran winger Steve Bernier on waivers Thursday, but he went unclaimed and re-signed with the Panthers on Friday. That night, he scored the deciding goal in the shootout of a 2-1 win in Atlanta.
"I'd never been in that situation before," Bernier said. "I felt a little out of it. You're not sure what's going to happen."
