Bayer Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes has given his support to beleaguered Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf, saying things cannot just go bad overnight.
Bremen have dropped to just one point above the bottom three in the Bundesliga and defeat or even only a draw against Leverkusen tomorrow could see them enter the final 10 games of the season inside the relegation zone.
However, Leverkusen coach Heynckes does not feel Schaaf can be held fully responsible for their slump and he has praised Bremen for not acting hastily and sacking him.
