Windows 8 Screenshots Tease Metro UI

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

While we are still settling with the Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Microsoft is already working on the Windows 8 operating system. Earlier this month, we reported that the user interface in the Windows 8 would be inspired from the Metro UI used in Windows Phone 7. Russian Site WinReview.ru managed to get the screenshots of the early Windows 8 installation stages. The new interface seems to have implications of Zune Media Centre and Windows Phone 7 together.
Looking at the screenshots available, the Windows 8 build in question seems to be the Milestone 2 build which just got finished. Soon, Microsoft would start working on Milestone 3 build that may come out as the first beta. Even the typography from the Windows Phone 7 has been implemented in Windows 8.
What's interesting is that the BSoD still exists but the Blue Screen of Death would be replaced with Black Screen of Death. Apparently, the Windows 8 M2 would possibly get leaked this weekend as per the Russian site WZOR.net.
