As Katy Perry gets set to kick off her California Dreams tour next month, she understandably wants to make sure everything goes to plan. Which is why she's compiled a brief and tidy 45-page list of her needs (called a tour "rider") for all those involved to read and comply.
When artists hop around the world, they almost always bring along a tour rider explaining simple things like what food they want backstage and what type of hotel accommodations they're looking for. Occasionally, the lists get a bit ridiculous, like artist MIA's for example: She demanded cage-aged Gruyere cheese among other things. But Katy Perry's 45-page rider really takes the cake.
Here's some of the more outrageous requests (the quoted parts are taken directly from the rider that The Smoking Gun got its hands on) the California Gurl makes in her epic laundry list of needs:
"Two bottles of Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio."
The driver must "not stair at the backseat thru the rearviewuw mirrow." [sic]
Perry does want "an arrangement of fresh flowers," but “absolutely no carnations.” The carnations part was underlined for added effect.
The laundry list goes on and on, as Perry delves into her favorite types of honey, baby wipes and other must-have goods. At times it's more tiring than amusing, but by all means, go ahead and check out the whole thing for yourself.
