Miley Cyrus Covers 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'

Miley Cyrus has kicked off her Gypsy Heart Tour, and judging from footage of her performing in Quito, Ecuador, the former Disney starlet has a big surprise for her fans in South America and Australia: Nirvana is on the set list.

Cyrus has long hinted that she prefers a darker sound than the twee pop she's known for. Before she broke into a cover of Nirvana's smash hit "Smells Like Teen Spirit," she explained, "I have a lot of fans come up and tell me that I inspire them and make them want to follow their dreams. And so this tour, I wanna be able to do the music that inspired me, that makes me want to be on this stage tonight."

Miley's cover—featured in the video posted below—was about what you'd expect: Lots of jerking around, slow moody walking and playing with hair extensions.
