Olivia Wilde Doesn't Think Her Divorce Was Any Tragedy

Thursday, May 5, 2011

Olivia Wilde's not reeling over her split from her husband of eight years -- she actually thinks it was a good detour from experiencing worse pain. She's opened up about how calling it off was a less emotionally trying option than staying in a spoiled relationship.

"The mark of a good marriage is partnership and continuing to feel inspired by your spouse. I had that with Tao. But the end is not necessarily the tragedy. Staying in a relationship that is no longer working is the tragedy. Living unhappily - that’s the tragedy," she said.

The Tron star has a vast future ahead -- she was a mere 19 when she eloped with documentary maker (and royal heir) Tao Ruspoli and got hitched on an abandoned bus.

During the milestones of her relationship, she's also gained some enlightenment, like recognizing the importance of not being "defined by your partner" and nurturing a "relationship with yourself."

But most important take-away from the interview: she's ready to dive back into dating. Yeehaw.
