Captain Jack Sparrow reclaimed his spot atop the box office this weekend.

Even without franchise stars Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides topped the box office this weekend with $90.1 million. While it's a great number for an opening box office, it failed to reach the $100 million mark that the other three films opened with during their respective releases.

Nonetheless, Pirates remains a huge success. Pirates 4 currently holds the record for the highest five-day opening in history with $346.4 million.

Last week's new releases remained to take in great numbers. Thor slipped to the No. 3 spot with $15.5 million. In its third week at theaters, Thor has amassed $145.4 million domestically. The chick R-rated comedy Bridesmaids didn't budge from it's No. 2 spot. The Kristen Wiig led comedy took in $21 million over the weekend. After two weeks at the box office, Bridesmaids total cume sits at $59.5 million.

Fast Five continues to be the highest grossing film for the summer blockbuster season. After four weeks at the box office, Fast Five has taken in $186.2 million.
