Nokia unveils new low-end QWERTY handset in India targeting youngsters

Nokia announced to introduce its latest mobile phone, called Nokia X2-01 in India with affordable price. The target of the company is to approach youngsters who want to be connected with social networking sites. The Nokia X2-01 is a full QWERTY mobile phone which has optimized messaging ability and colourful designs. The head of service marketing of Nokia India, Mr. Jasmeet Gandhi said to media, “The Nokia X2-01 is competitively priced with colourful design and optimized for messaging performance. Among mobile phones, QWERTY category of phones is the fastest growing segment where messaging and accessing emails could be faster.”




The Nokia X2-01 comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display which has resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The handset also has a VGA camera that captures images with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. It includes microSD card slot and the internal memory of the mobile phone can be expanded up to 8 GB using micro SD memory card. The device is powered by a 1020 mAh battery that provides standby time of up to 20 days. It also has some other features like Stereo FM radio with RDS support and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.




The Nokia X2-01 offers some connectivity features including Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, USB 2.0 connectivity, and EGPRS/WAP. It runs on Symbian’s S40 operating system and supports Yahoo! Mail, Ovi Mail, Windows Live, Gmail, Hotmail and some other popular POP/IMAP services. The mobile comes in five different colours such as Silver, Azure, Red, Lilac and Grey. The Nokia X2-01 handset will be available in Indian market with MRP of Rs 4,459.
