Samsung strides in with bada-enabled Wave II in India - Samsung Wave 2 Price in India

Last year, Samsung splashed its colors with the Galaxy, Galaxy S and Wave series of smartphones. Some weeks ago, we heard about the integration of Nuance T9 Trace into the second version of the latter. The company has now amplified the assortment of offerings for the Indian market by unleashing Wave II (S8530) which is backed by its proprietary OS, bada.




Sporting a 3.7-inch super clear LCD screen, the Samsung Wave II manifests superior images with enhanced outdoor visibility and an extensive viewing angle. This sleek display has been outfitted in a seamless aluminum construction which also houses a 1GHz processor for wheedling an augmented multimedia and multitasking performance. Its Touchwiz 3.0 user interface engineers multiple screens that enable users to sort varied widgets, feeds and apps while keeping them just a click away. Users who wish to immerse in a refined experience can download apps from the Samsung Apps store.

To deliver a smooth messaging experience, the handset comes equipped with Quicktype by T9 which allows users to select letters of a word by swiping their fingers. After keying in the first few letters, the system automatically spells out possible and appropriate words that can be formed. While keeping dear ones connected through their messages, customers can also indulge in the web weaved by the company via the Social Hub. This feature blends all contact information from SNS, IM and e-mail, making it possible for consumers to keep in touch with peers and also view their current activities on the web.

Implanted with an HD video player and recorder, the Wave II facilitates users to document content. This player supports different file formats including MPEG4, real, ASF, DivX, MKV Xvid and WMV. Users can bring the embedded 5MP camera into play for capturing candid moments while traversing or relaxing at home. The device is also outfitted with flash LED and a 1500mAh battery. This fuels the handset to work appropriately for around 15 hours of talk time on 2G network whereas users surfing along the 3G network can chat incessantly for eight hours.

The Samsung Wave II has been packed with a free 2GB memory card and flaunts a price tag of Rs. 20,900. With this new arrival, the company’s portfolio of bada products now comprises five handsets. The Samsung bada-enabled devices are available at the starting price of Rs. 8800.


Samsung Wave 2: Samsung plans to launch its second generation smartphone as Samsung Wave 2 in Indian market. Samsung Wave 2 is expected to have price tag of Rs.18, 999 in Indian market.
Samsung Wave 2 is having specifications such as 3.7 inch Super Clear LCD display with 800×480 pixels resolution, 3.5 mm headphone jack, 2GB of internal memory, microSD card slot, expandable memory up to 32GB, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 1GHz processor, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and 1500mAh battery.

Samsung Wave series is available in five different models in India. Samsung Wave 2 runs on Samsung Bada 1.2 mobile operating system. Samsung Wave 2 also supports 3G and A-GPS options
