Just after the announcement of Apple iPad for India, MSI has announced WindPad 100W tablet with Microsoft Windows 7 running on it for India. With Apple iPad just hitting the shores and Android based Galaxy Tab already available, we d like to know how many would go for WindPad 100W. There s no war of OSes in India per se but it s good to know that all major OS based tablets are made available in India.

Remember how smartphones were in and around everything that happened last year? We can’t really say they’re fizzling out, but yes tablets are noticeably garnering much more attention now. MSI adds to the already crowded tablet terrain with its new WindPad 100W. Claimed to be the company’s first tablet PC, the device stands out for being lightweight and having an extended battery life.

Fitted with a low-power Intel mobile platform processor, this new MSI entrant features a 10.1” multipoint touchscreen. In comparison to other Windows-Intel architecture systems, this tablet is said to be high on battery too with around 6 hours of juice on offer. Sizing it up at 274 x 173 x 18.5mm, the tablet tips the scale at just 800g which does make it pretty light. Entering the mobile data center, there’s a host of I/O ports counting an SD card slot, USB 2.0 slots and a mini HDMI port. 2GB of DDRII memory should sit well with the included 32GB SDD.
